Powerhouse was built from years inside complex, high-stakes environments—where infrastructure cannot fail, logistics are complex, and sustainability only works when it strengthens commercial performance.
Founded by Brigette McDowell and Jakobus de Wet, we've seen energy transition approached in the wrong order too many times. Oversized systems. Capital deployed before demand is addressed. Sustainability treated as compliance, not commercial strategy.
We build differently.
By reducing load before adding generation and grounding every technical decision in commercial outcomes, we deliver decarbonisation that lowers cost, protects reliability, and strengthens asset value.
In complex environments, transition only works when it makes commercial sense.

Built on experience
Powerhouse has operated for over a decade—delivering efficiency and renewable projects before transition was mainstream.
Ten years operating in this sector teaches you what works and what doesn't. It teaches you discipline, precision, and where value is actually created.
We know these regions. We know these environments. We've built our expertise in efficiency-first decarbonisation for remote and industrial operations.
As the transition scales, our clients don't need experimentation. They need experience.
Regional by design
Headquartered in the Pilbara, Powerhouse operates across Western Australia, South Australia, and the Northern Territory.
We work in remote, regional, and industrial environments where reliability, logistics, and extreme conditions demand disciplined delivery.
Our footprint reflects our focus: complex locations, critical infrastructure, high-performance systems.

Our Values
Efficiency in achieving maximum impact with minimum waste.
Respect for people, place, and planet in everything we do.
Excellence as our baseline, not our aspiration.

Leadership

Brigette McDowell
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Brigette leads the strategic and commercial direction of Powerhouse.
With more than 15 years' experience across SME and energy sectors, she's worked at the intersection of decarbonisation strategy, regulatory environments, and infrastructure delivery in regional Australia.
Her focus: ensuring energy transition initiatives are commercially grounded, operationally practical, and built to endure. She positions sustainability not as compliance, but as a disciplined approach to strengthening asset performance and reducing risk.

Jakobus de Wet
Co-Founder & Chief Technical Officer
Jakobus leads technical design and delivery across electrical infrastructure, renewable systems, and hybrid energy projects.
He brings extensive experience delivering systems in remote, high-demand environments where precision and reliability are critical. His approach prioritises demand optimisation, accurate system sizing, and durability under extreme conditions.
Every solution Powerhouse deploys is engineered for performance—not just installation.
