Jakobus is a highly skilled tradesman with expertise as an electrician, mechanical fitter, draftsman, and fabricator. Hailing from a farming community in South Africa, his strong work ethic and problem-solving abilities led him to oversee global industrial projects, including the installation of large submerged arc furnaces.

With a passion for renewable energy, Jakobus, alongside Brigette, co-founded Powerhouse. His focus shifted to solving challenges in remote Australia, particularly for First Nations communities. His diverse skills, innate problem-solving, and commitment to emerging technologies make him a key player in integrating innovative solutions for a sustainable future. As Powerhouse’s Chief Technology Officer, Jakobus leads impactful initiatives, addressing complex issues in underserved regions.
